UP Police Regs 78Chapter 7 · Armed Training Reserve
Section 78 · Paragraph 75. Assignment of persons on leave by the Superintendent to the Reserve
Text size — level 1 of 4
The Superintendent of Police may assign constables on leave to the reserve, but the proportion of such constables should not exceed 11/85 of the reserve. Leave to constables in the reserve shall be granted only when there is an urgent need for leave due to illness or some particularly urgent personal matter.
Recruits with not less than one year of service may be assigned to the reserve, but the proportion of such recruits should not exceed the actual proportion of recruits with not less than one year of service to the total sanctioned strength of the armed police.
When the number of vacancies in the Armed Police exceeds 20 percent of the sanctioned strength, and the number of recruits with less than one year's service exceeds the number of recruits with more than one year's service, recruits with more than one year's service shall be deemed to be efficient constables eligible for assignment to the Reserve. Recruits with more than six months' service shall then be posted to the Reserve in the proportion specified in the first paragraph of this paragraph. Exceptions made under this clause require the approval of the Deputy Inspector General of the Range.
