The names of all persons with history sheets should be entered in the notebooks of the patrolling constables and in the crime notebook of the village watchman. All visits made by officers and constables to villages inhabited by criminals should be shown in the fly sheet of the village notebook, and an entry should be made on this sheet stating that all persons with history sheets of category 'A' in the village have been interviewed. A complete note indicating the outcome of all these visits should be entered in the general diary, giving the number of the general diary and the fly sheet. If any important matter is ascertained, the note should also be recorded in the history sheet. In cities, a separate fly sheet should be attached to the history sheet, in which all visits to suspects will be recorded.
