Section 395 · Paragraph 385. Duty of a Head Constable/Constable suffering from venereal disease to inform his superiors

Every Head Constable or Constable suffering from a genital disease should report the fact to his or her nearest superior officer, who will take steps to obtain immediate admission to the police hospital. Concealment of genital disease by Head Constables or Constables is a punishable offense under Section 7 of the Police Act. An officer convicted of concealing genital disease shall, in addition to such punishment as may be deemed necessary, be suspended and detained in a hospital until he or she recovers or becomes physically fit. During such suspension, he or she shall be paid a subsistence allowance under Fundamental Rule 53. (Financial Handbook, Volume II, Part II)
