Section 397 · Para 387. Medical examination of head constable and constable is compulsory

Officers of the rank of Head Constable and below are subject to compulsory medical inspection, and the Superintendent of Police shall ensure that all officers under his command undergo a medical inspection at least once in each calendar year. In districts where police hospitals are formerly in charge of medical officers, the annual medical examination of these police officers shall be conducted by the Civil Surgeon of the district concerned. In the interior areas of hilly districts, this function may be performed by medical officers from outlying dispensaries if authorized by the Civil Surgeon. Each officer should bring his or her medical history with him or her for this inspection.
