Section 545 · Paragraph 525. Transfer procedure from Armed Police to Civil Police or from Civil Police to Armed Police

Constables with less than two years of service may be transferred from the Armed Police to the Civil Police, or vice versa, by the Superintendent of Police. Constables of the Foot Police may be transferred to the Mounted Police on their own request. Constables of the Civil Police with more than two years of service but less than ten years of service may be transferred to the Armed Police, or vice versa, by the Superintendent for a period not exceeding six months in a year. All Armed Police constables with more than two years of service and Civil Police constables with more than two years of service but less than ten years of service may be transferred to any other branch of the Force, with the permission of the Deputy Inspector General, for any period of time.
In all other cases, transfer of police officers from one branch of the Force to another, or from the police services of other provinces to the Uttar Pradesh Police, requires the approval of the Inspector General.
