Section 475 · Paragraph 462. Rolls of promotion and reversion

Promotion and reversion rolls shall be maintained separately in the prescribed format for all ranks and branches, for in-charge and substantive promotions.
These rolls shall be maintained by the Accountant, who shall make entries in the first three columns and, whenever a promotion or reversion becomes due, shall submit the appropriate rolls, along with all necessary documents and the character roll, to the Superintendent. The Superintendent of Police shall fill in columns 4 and 5 of the roll with his own handwriting the name of any superseded officer, stating the reasons for his supersession, along with a brief note. From the first occasion of the supersession of an officer, a note of this fact and the reasons therefor shall be entered in the character roll.
