The Reserve Inspector is the officer in charge of the Reserve Line. He must summon and inspect all guards and escorts required from the Reserve Line and ensure that the Naik officers are fully familiar with their duties. He must parade any police party sent on special duty in the district and see that they are properly equipped and have adequate kit. He must see that daily attendance is taken. He must see that the roster (Format No. 97) of the officers and constables of the Armed Police and the Civil Police posted to the Reserve Line is correctly maintained by the Company Commander (Gulm Naik). He is personally responsible for ensuring that the distribution of duties among the Reserve Constables is carried out correctly and judiciously. He should write the first two columns of the roster (station number) in English or have it written by a Reserve Sub-Inspector and daily date and initial the roll. He should submit a daily morning report to the Superintendent in Form 30. He is entitled to an orderly peon, but not a police orderly or a night guard at his residence.
