Section 2 · Para-1-A Additional Inspector General

Additional Inspector General of Police (ADGP) will be the in-charge and supervisory officer of the areas under his jurisdiction and will provide appropriate guidance to the Deputy Inspector Generals of Police in his jurisdiction. His duties and powers regarding employees/officers within his jurisdiction will be as follows:
(1) Transfer of non-gazetted officers in his subordinate areas. Regional transfers will continue to be effected at the Police Headquarters level, but the procedure will be that these orders will now be issued by Police Headquarters in accordance with the recommendations of the concerned Additional Inspector General of Police.
(2) Dispose of reports, appeals, revision petitions, etc., of employees posted in his subordinate areas.
(3) Grant casual leave to gazetted officers in his subordinate areas, which until now was granted by the Inspector General of Police.
(4) Provide his opinion regarding the work of gazetted officers in his jurisdiction to the Inspector General of Police for their annual entry.
(5) Such other duties as may be assigned to him from time to time by the Government or the Inspector General of Police.
