Section 268 · Paragraph 259. Action when the destination of a history-sheeter is unknown

If the destination of the person of bad character to whom the slip is to be sent is unknown, a carbon or other copy of the enquiry shall be sent to every police station where he is reasonably supposed to have been. The directions in the column for relatives and associates in the history sheet shall indicate the probable destination of the person of bad character.
When a railway thief with a history sheet absents himself under suspicious circumstances, the Government Railway Police Officer concerned should be informed immediately.
