Sub-Inspectors of the Civil Police must undergo the Provincial Police Training College. For details of their training in the colleges and their practical training in the district, see the Uttar Pradesh Police Training College Handbook, Part III.
From the date they are posted as Sub-Inspectors in the district, Sub-Inspectors of the Civil Police will be on probation for a period of two years, at the end of which they may be confirmed by the Deputy Inspector General, if he deems them suitable for permanent appointment.
