Text size — level 1 of 4
When the death appears or is suspected to have been caused by the commission of a cognizable offence or when for any other reason the Investigating Officer considers it expedient so to do, he shall send the body for postmortem examination, if the weather conditions and distance permit its forwarding without risk of decomposition on the road which would render the examination useless.
