The Deputy Inspector General of the Range is empowered to temporarily augment the police force of one of his districts by withdrawing police officers not above the rank of Inspector from other districts for purposes such as anti-dacoity operations or fairs. The Superintendent of Police should apply to the Deputy Inspector General of the Range for additional police (armed and civil). For periodic requirements for annual fairs and festivals, which normally involve heavy deployment of forces, long notice should be given.
