UP Police Regs 525Chapter 32 · Departmental Punishment of Police Officers and Their Criminal Prosecution
Section 525 · Paragraph 507. Conditional resignation tendered by a police officer not generally to be accepted
Text size — level 1 of 4
Sometimes, police officers combine a request for leave with a request for relief of hardship, along with an offer to resign from their appointment if the leave is not granted. Such conditional resignations should generally not be accepted. Orders should be passed only on applications for leave or relief of hardship. If an officer is dissatisfied with the order passed, they may appeal to a higher authority or resign unconditionally.
