UP Police Regs 381Chapter 28 · Miscellaneous
Section 381 · Paragraph 372. Police officer shall not have any private financial dealings with the cashier
Text size — level 1 of 4
Police officers shall not engage in any personal financial transactions with the police accountant, nor shall any member of the police force or clerical staff be employed to maintain the personal accounts of gazetted officers. However, there is no objection to the release of small advances to the clerks of gazetted officers for incidental expenses, such as cutting wood, pitching tents, or clearing camp grounds, or to the release of small sums of money with the head clerks or accountants for expenditure on parcels payable with an anticipated value.
Section 2 of the Police Act requires a recruited police officer to inform the Superintendent of Police under whom he serves of any of his relatives engaged in business or employment other than government service within his jurisdiction. Upon receipt of such information, the Superintendent shall consider whether the circumstances justify the transfer of the officer concerned. The general principle is that a police officer should not ordinarily be employed within a jurisdiction where a relative of the above mentioned generation carries on any private business. The extent to which the Superintendent of Police may apply this principle in particular cases will depend on the situation in the division in which the officer is domiciled and the general circumstances. This order does not in any way alter Rule 15 of the Government Service Conduct Rules.
