धारा 52 · Registering authority

- The registering authority shall be -
(i)
for [Kolkata] [Substituted vide section 5 of the West Bengal Capital City (Change of Name) Act, 2001 (West Bengal Act 18 of 2001) (w.r.e.f. 1.1.2001) for the word 'Calcutta'.], the Director, Public Vehicles Department, [Kolkata] [Substituted vide section 5 of the West Bengal Capital City (Change of Name) Act, 2001 (West Bengal Act 18 of 2001) (w.r.e.f. 1.1.2001) for the word 'Calcutta'.],(ii)
elsewhere in the State, the District Magistrate, excepting that the District Magistrate, 24-Parganas (North) shall not be the registering authority in respect of areas under Salt Lake and Lake Town police stations :इस धारा पर आपका निजी नोट
