धारा 5 · [ Functions of public library. - A public library shall perform such functions and discharge such duties as the Government may determine.] [[Section 5 first substituted by W.B. Act 24 of 1985, then again substituted by W.B. Act 41 of 1994. Previous Section 5 was as under :

'5. Functions of the State Central Library. - The State Central Library shall perform such functions and discharge such duties as may be prescribed.'.]]
