Section 15 · Application for leave. - Subject to the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948 (65 of 1948), or any other Act applicable to the establishment any workman desiring to avail of any leave which is due to him, shall make an application in writing for the purpose to the Manager or the Officer authorised by the employer in this behalf, at least fifteen days prior to the date of the intended commencement of such leave and the Manager or the officer concerned shall pass orders on the application within a week of its submission :

Provided that when leave is required for urgent purposes, the period of fifteen days' notice ordinarily required may be waived and in that case an application may be submitted as early as possible and the Manager or the authorised officer concerned shall pass orders on the application on the date of its submission, if the leave is to commence on that day, or at least 24 hours befOre the actual commencement of the leave.
