Section 27 · Power to declare that a forest is no longer a reserved forest

(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct that any forest or portion thereof reserved under this Act shall, as from a date fixed by such notification, cease to be a reserved forest.
(2) As from the date so appointed, such forest or portion thereof shall cease to be reserved, but the rights (if any) therein which have been extinguished shall not revive as a result of such cessation.
