धारा 16 · Compounding of offence

(1)

Offence under sub-section (b) to section 12 shall be compoundable

(2)

Offence punishable under clause (a) of section 12 may be compounded by the District Registrar on his being satisfied,that the marriage has been registered.

(3)

On inquiry or showing sufficient cause by the accused, District Registrar may withdraw the complaint under section 13, on being satisfied that the accused has discharged his duties according to Section 5 and 6.
