धारा 70 · Notice of payment to be given, and land to be held rent free

- On receipt of such payment, the Deputy Collector shall give notice to the proprietor in whose separate estate the land is situated-

(a)

that such payment has been made;

(b)

that the sum will be paid to him or to his authorized agent on application; and

(c)

that, from the date on which possession as aforesaid is given, the proprietor who has redeemed the rent of such land will be entitled to hold the land as a rent-free tenure secured against the proprietor to whom the notice is given and against any auction-purchaser at a sale for arrears of revenue, including the [Government] [Substituted by A.L.O. for 'Crown'];
and from such date the land shall be so held as a rent-free tenure.
