धारा 56 · [ Penalty for unlawful advertisement. [Substituted by Bihar Act No. 3 of 2016, dated 31.3.2016.]

- Whoever prints, publishes or gives an advertisement directly or indirectly in any media, including films & television, or any social platform soliciting the use of any liquor, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than five years but which may extend to seven years or with fine which may extend to ten lakh rupees, or with both:Provided that this section shall not apply to catalogue and price list and advertisement generally or specially approved by the Excise Commissioner for display at the points of sale for consumer information and education.]
