Section 1 · Short title, extent and commencement

This Act may be called the Bengal Agricultural Debtors Act, [1936] [Figures substituted by W.B. Act 7 of 1948.].(2)
It extends to the whole of [West Bengal] [Words substituted by the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts) Order, 1948.].(3)
