Section 14 · Drawing of Tari in notified areas

(1)

Notwithstanding anything contained in the proviso to Section 13,-

(a)

no Tari-producing tree shall be tapped, and

(b)

no Tari shall be drawn from any tree,
in any local area specified in this behalf by the Chief Commissioner by notification, except under the authority and subject to the terms and conditions of a licence granted in that behalf by the Collector.

(2)

Provided that, when any exclusive privilege of manufacturing tari has been granted under Section 22, the Chief Commissioner may declare that the written permission given to the grantee to draw tari shall have the same force and effect as a licence granted by the Collector under Sub-section (1) of this section.

(3)

Provided also that, in any local area specified by notification under sub-section (1), the Chief Commissioner may, by notification, declare that sub-section (1) shall not apply to trees tapped or tari drawn under such special conditions as the Excise Commissioner may prescribe.
