Section 257 · Acquisition of land in the Scheduled Areas

- The Gram Sabha of Gram Panchayat concerned where land is to be acquired, shall be consulted before making the acquisition of land in the Scheduled Areas for development projects under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, (Central Act 30 of 2013) and before resettling or rehabilitating persons evicted by such project in the Scheduled Areas, the actual planning and implementation of the projects in the Scheduled Areas shall be coordinated at the State level.
