Section 20 · Exemption

(1)

None of the provisions of this Act shall apply to the-

(a)

houses owned by the Union Government, a State Government or a Local authority; and

(b)

houses the construction of which is completed after the commencement of this Act for a period of five years from the date of their completion.

(2)

The State Government may, by notification, exempt any other house or class of houses from all or any of the provisions of this Act.
