Section 17 · Constitution of village forests

(1)
The Executive Committee may by notification in the Assam Gazette and also in the District in such manner as it may deem appropriate, constitute any land at the disposal of the District Council a village forest for the collective benefit of any village community or group of village communities, and may in like manner vary or cancel any such notification.(2)
